This wonderful sister sent Scott and I this email and pictures of our Elder Allen!  My day started out real special!

Elder Evan Allen & Sister Pierce

Brother and Sister Allen,
I know that sometime our missionaries play down their role here in the field. I have been going out with Elder Allen a lot lately and wanted to share with you what a wonderful missionary he is. He is so inspired in his teaching, I am amazed at how he can draw in the kids as well as the adults all in the same lesson. He is so Spirit driven and knows exactly what people need to hear. The people that he is working with love him and he has such an open heart for each of them. He works really hard, I find myself running to keep up with him. The compassion he shows everyone around him is so uplifting. I know that he has personally been someone who has changed my life for the better. It’s hard to believe he is only 21 years old, he has so much wisdom not only for someone older like me, but his young companions and friends in the field. He is truly loved by everyone here in Riverside. He has inspired me to dig deeper and always question to gain more for myself. I feel so loved and protected by him and in turn love him very much. I go home the end of May and he will definitely be one of my special elders that I will miss very much. You have raised such a wonderful young man, he always talks about his family with such love and fondness for you all. I love the stories about his grandpa, he keeps us in stitches. I know he is looking forward to coming home but know that he will be coming home a different man. He has grown physically, emotionally and spiritually, and as he says it himself for the better.  I know that someday he will be a wonderful husband and father. I am sure you are very proud of him as he fulfills his purpose and helps people make life changes. Please know that I am personally also very proud of him for who he is and who he wants to become. May Heavenly Father bless you for want a wonderful son you have raised, for the sacrifices you are making supporting him on this mission, and for the love you always have for him. I am grateful to you for sharing him and hope I have the opportunity to meet you someday.

Much Love,
Sister Pierce

I am scared.

I am excited.

My mind is messed up.

I love hanging out with my friends.

I love this work.

Baptisms.

Yeah.

Well I got to hold a PS4 controller this week and it is soooooo awesome! It brought back so many memories!

Clara and Luz who got baptized the week before general conference got confirmed yesterday and their brother Emilio should get baptized this coming Sunday if everything goes right.

We found some new people this week so we got work to do!

Nothing else too crazy happened this week but hopefully I have stories next week.

Oh I went low while biking and had to stop at a little store and get some juice. Thats about it haha!

Well have a good week! I miss you all!

1st week of the transfer
April 14, 2014

Well this week drug on! It was one of the longest weeks I had in a really long time. We did work though. Nobody came to church which stunk. We have to solidify people or drop them this week because we gotta get em in da wata!

I saw Elder Moss and Elder Moser at a wedding reception on Saturday. They taught a family that got sealed which is pretty cool. I miss Elder Moss a lot!

A recent convert of Elder Harris and I picked us up while we were waiting at a bus stop. Tino has a job now but complains about it. He is less active now and we need to send him some letters and encourage him to go back to church. When we taught him though he didn't have a job and now he does so thats a blessing he doesn't see yet.

I have been working out super hard because we have sooo much equipment to use! I get up at 5:40 every morning and its cool because I am not even tired!

I got a haircut today and talked to the lady in spanish and she has been here for 18 years and hasn't learned english and I told her I have been here for 19 months and have learned spanish so she's gotta learn. I told her we could "teach her some english" but she said it was ok.

I have been daydreaming a lot about home and my thoughts wander to home often. Its super scary, happy, intimidating, and I know I will be ready to come home but I am terrified to do it at the same time. I won't get a nice hispanic dinner once a day and I am going to have to worry about school, bills, a car, finding a wife, a job, and I am going to have to try to have fun at the same time.

I love my mission though! I have changed a bunch! I think I am quite a bit cooler than before. I miss you all and I am pumped to have another week of work to do out here! Wish me luck!

Well there goes another transfer!
April 7th, 2014

I can't believe everything is happening so fast! I hate time out here!

This week was pretty good. We had a ton of fun and my birthday was a blast! I am 21 years old now!!! I got my new license too! Its a Cali license! I am pumped for this next transfer and we are going to do a ton of work.

I am soooo hungry! We are eating a T Bell (Taco Bell) after this and I am going to stuff myself!

I don't have too much more to write about but I amloving my mission and I can't believe I only have 18 weeks left. I have a lot to do in a little time but I ma going to have fun and enjoy the rest of my mission.
